1. How to request deletion
Send a deletion request to contact@datagene.expert using the email address associated with your account where possible.
Please include:
- your name;
- your organisation;
- the email address connected to the account;
- the Datagene service or integration involved;
- whether you want specific connected data deleted or the entire Datagene account deleted.
2. Verification
To protect customer data, Datagene may ask for reasonable evidence that the requester owns the account or is authorised by the organisation responsible for it.
3. What may be deleted
Depending on the request and service configuration, deletion may include:
- account profile information;
- stored connection credentials and authorisation tokens;
- data imported from connected platforms;
- uploaded business files and datasets;
- generated reports, recommendations and draft content;
- scheduled integration jobs associated with the account.
4. Processing time
We aim to acknowledge requests promptly and complete valid deletion requests within the period required by applicable law.
Complex requests, organisational accounts or requests involving archived backups may require additional time. We will explain any material delay.
5. Information that may be retained
Limited records may be retained where necessary for legal obligations, accounting, fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution or the establishment and defence of legal claims.
Backup copies may remain temporarily until they are replaced through the normal secure backup cycle.
6. Disconnecting without deleting
Disconnecting a Google, Meta, Facebook, Instagram or other integration stops future access but may not automatically remove information already imported into Datagene.
See the Account Disconnection page for instructions.
7. Confirmation
Once a deletion request has been completed, Datagene will confirm completion using the verified contact details associated with the request.
